Sims falling through ceiling/floor?

My sims fall through the ceiling in certain parts of the second floor whenever they try to use the shower or the bathroom. I am not sure if it is related, but whenever they are sleeping in their beds, you can go to the first level and see them floating near the ceiling. I am unsure of why this is happening. I tried turning off the Move Objects cheat and I used the reset sim cheat on all of my sims and nothing has worked. I did build the house to be substantially larger, I wonder if that has anything to do with it? If I can get help that would be great because this is ruining the game for me ☹️
