My computer has switchable graphics, it can switch between the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 for power saving and the AMD Radeon HD 6470M for high performance.

Assuming you meant AMDs site, yes. I found two hotfixes, none of them fixedd the problem.
Did you try this beta driver: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Catalystbetadriver1.aspx ?
12.6 also seems to be out of beta: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista64.aspx
