Did you also delete your cache files ?
Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/ (if you haven't done this)
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

Could you post a picture ? To do so, change to window mode and press Print Screen to take a pic. Paste that into Paint and save it.
Then upload the picture to a third party image sharing site like imageshack and then post the link here.
you need to reset your sim
1.ResetSim Sim Name
or
2.ResetSim sim name
and they will be back to normalThey have tried that.
