Sims won't save to bin.
When I make a sim I save it but I've noticed that they won't show up in my bin, they do when I save them the first time, (first time as in when i create them and save them) but not when I go to create another sim and check bin,
and when I download sims from the exchange they'll download on the launcher but not show up in game
sorry for bad English :/ And I know there's been a thread on this already but, it didn't work for me.
(also sorry if I didn't go into a lot of detail, I'm not good at explaining things.)
@xSotus Have you confirmed that your missing sims aren't in your SavedSims folder and don't show up when you open Create-a-Sim?
If so, go into Documents\Electronic Arts and drag your entire Sims 3 game folder onto your desktop. Launch the game, and a clean folder will spawn with no content. Try making a few households in CAS. There's no need to spend a lot of time on them; this is just for testing. Quit the game and delete the five cache files in your new game folder. For reference, they are:
- CASPartCache.package
- compositorCache.package
- scriptCache.package
- simCompositorCache.package
- socialCache.package
Look inside Library—there should be one entry for each household you just created. Then load the game again, go to Edit Town, and confirm that those households appear in the bin. If they do, you can try installing one Exchange household: Delete your cache files again, download the sims3pack and install it, check Library to make sure it's there (if it's not, check SavedSims), reload the game, and make sure the Exchange household is in the bin as well.
If all of this works, you can install more Exchange sims, but only add a few at a time, and keep checking to make sure they're in your game folder and in the in-game bin. (Also delete the cache files each time you install more content.) Again, any entry that lands in SavedSims instead of Library will appear in CAS rather than the bin.
Once you've installed all the Exchange content you want, you can move your saves and the rest of your Library files from your old game folder to the new one. You can move your store content over as well. It's bundled into .ebc files in DCCache, and if you own any premium content, you'll need to move your ccmerged.package from DCBackup as well.
