Sims3 World Adventures Expansion not downloading

I just purchased the sims 3 world adventures expansion pack via the EA App, as it was on sale. My credit card was charged and it shows that the expansion is on my EA account when I look under the sims 3 base game add-on's, however it never launched the download manager to download the content into my game. It also does not show the new expansion pack in the download manager as able to be downloaded, nor does it show it on my sims 3 main screen where you can select which expansions you want to play with.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I have reached out to EA support 4 times and they cannot solve the problem. I have tried all of the troubleshooting methods including clearing cache and re-installing EA app. They also claim that they cannot offer me a refund since the game is apparently loaded onto my EA app and it is apparently an external bus that is the issue.

  • @avalina504  When you click Sims 3 in the EA App, then Manage > Manage add-ons, what does it say under World Adventures: Download or In-game content?  For the latter, the only fix other than clearing the EA App's cache is to uninstall and reinstall Sims 3.  If you see a Download button now, just click it, of course.

    If World Adventures isn't showing up under Manage add-ons at all, let me know.

  • Uninstalling and re-installing the game worked for me thank you. Luckily, I didn't have a lot of things or time in the game so it wasn't that annoying uninstalling and re-installing. I shouldn't have to be doing this, EA should really fix their app :/.

    I have the same problem with the world adventures expansion pack. Under manage add-ons mine says in-app content. Do I also have to uninstall and re-install the sims 3 game or what. How can I fix this to play the world adventures add on in my base game ? Please help me, thank you

    @ChanedR123  Yes, uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 3 is the only reliable way to fix this issue.  Be sure to back up the Sims 3 folder in Documents > Electronic Arts before uninstalling—this contains your saves and other user data, and while it shouldn't be removed during the uninstall process, that can happen sometimes.  A backup means you won't have to worry about losing your saves.
