Sims3

Hello, So I recently got a computer and bought the Sims3 along with expansion packs.
I have been wanting this game for over a year and finally got it.
I played it with no problems for 3 days and now I will get the launcher to open but when I click play, I get a black screen. ☹️
I am sad that I can't play my game anymore due to this problem. I really would appriciate some help. Thank you in advance.

    hi @Galaxy19780

win 8 see if this will work for to run the DxDiag

to start directX diagnostic tool in Windows 8 press the key combination [Win-Logo]+[R]  then simply type the command dxdiag.exe

or open the menu bar-search type dxdiag into the search bar, then select the program dxdiag from the list of programs that come up

if this is your first time running dxdiag, a window will pop up asking if you want the drivers to be digitally signed. this means that windows will check to see if the drivers are from a valid manufacturer and have not been tampered with. it is recommended that you select "yes". however, it requires an internet connection. if you do not have an Internet connection, select "no".

after that , a window should pop up with your system information  save this information to a text file so it can be copy and pasted to whoever needs the information. to do this, click the button named "Save All Information". to which after clicking that button, a save window will pop up. navigate to the desktop, this should be the default, and name the file "DxDiag", then click "save". once the file is saved on the desktop (for easier finding of the file the desktop will do to save it just open it and hen c/p it to here
