I just bought Sims 3 today and after I installed everything I tried to play the game and got this error message. http://imgur.com/zxnJ9f4 I've tried uninstalling the launcher and the games, restarting everything, it didn't help. I'm running windows XP with microsoft security essentials, it's a very old computer but I was sure that it met the minimum requirements. Any help would be appricated.

Seems your graphic card has some issues with getting defective easlily. Does your computer otherwise run fine ? Could you run a hardware check on it to see if everything is in order ? Does Origin run ok ?

Sims3Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps/td-p/714/

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

If that doesn't help, could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

The first one didn't help. I'm not sure if I'm missing the files in my documents or it's just hasn't been made because the game has never started up. Here's my DxDiag: https://www.mediafire.com/?jb6co1a4eq831sj

Origin runs fine. When I did the hardware check it didn't say there was anything wrong but I think the graphics card might be whats causing the problem. I'll try getting a new one soon but if that doesn't work I'll see you again, haha. Sorry for the trouble! Thanks for the help!

No trouble.

TBH, I would look into a new computer if you have the means. As you said, yours is pretty old and XP support is running out (might have already, not sure)

It's running fine on my other one. I just wanted to see if I could get any use out of that old one, haha.
