Song keeps playing and won't stop

So for some reason the song that plays when you complete an objective or goal or opportunity keeps playing even after nothing happens. I don't want to have to restart my family and game all over again. Is there a way to make it stop. I have also tried resetting the town and every sim. Please help

    I have found the answer to your problem. It's happened to me about twice now, if not more, and it is one of the City Hall location opportunities. It does not matter how many times you try to complete it, the jingle keeps playing and the opportunity stays as it was when you accepted it. Pretty disappointing, but there is a fix for this annoying constant jingle, which is very simple.

    1. Go to your opportunities tab

    2. Hover your cursor over the broken opportunity

    3. Right click it to remove the opportunity.

    4. The jingle will stop, and you can get rid of that headache.

    I realize this was from 4 years ago but this happened to me and it was so obnoxious after logging out and everything that i logged into my wifes ea account just to say thank you so much for posting this. It worked.

    @mnash2986  Try deleting the cache files in your TS3 game folder in Documents. They are:

    • CASPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package

    Then, if the music is still playing, try right-clicking again, even if you don't see an opportunity listed.  Sometimes there's an invisible placeholder left over by the game that needs to be clicked away.
