@MACIEJOowaty I haven't seen many reports of sound crackling on M1 Macs, at least not in Sims 3, and I know it doesn't happen for some players at least. What sound device(s) have you tried using so far, and does the sound crackle with all of them?
The sound goes directly from my MacBook, when any sound from The Sims 3 is playing, when connected to AirPods same thing happens, when I connect headphones through jack input you can also hear music crackle. It's basically the same issue as in the sims 4, which has been patched and you can no longer hear crackling in TS4, so I know its something Devs have to fix.
Here's a link to the issue from TS4, I've experienced same issues in TS3
@MACIEJOowaty I know about the Sims 4 issue, but I haven't seen reports of the same problem in Sims 3. I also asked a couple people with M1 Macs if they had the problem, and they said no.
What OS build do you have, not just Big Sur but the version number? It should show up in About This Mac.
I have this issue aswell on My M1 Mac Mini Running Big sur 11.2.3
Audio Crackling and a purple outerlayer
@shay0123405 Does this happen with any sound output you use? For the purple on the screen, is it just a couple small lines, or something more? The lines are a known issue.
As for the Purple outline. i noticed it was also on the Sim Portrait in the UI inside the Gameplay (Above the Timer and Lifetime Wish)
as for the sound. i tried both headphones and The Mac Mini's speaker.its only happening in sims 3 though i tried sims 4 and sims 4 works flawlessly.i took pictures of the Purple outline issue:
@shay0123405 What version of Big Sur are you running? You can see it under About This Mac.
The lines in your screenshots are the same as what other people have reported, and I don't think there's any way to remove them, at least not unless EA steps in with a patch. (Of all the issues that might get patched, this seems pretty low on the list.) Hopefully they're not too distracting.
I'm Currently Running Version 11.2.3 (Latest Avalible Version) i have also tried running it on a different Mac with the Latest beta version of 11.3
in my Personal opinion the Purple Lines is the least Distracting its more the Audio Crackling that often disturb Gameplay.
@shay0123405 I'm sorry, I don't know what to tell you here. There are a couple other people who've reported the same issue, but others on the same Macs with the same sound output have said they get no crackling, and I haven't been able to figure out what the difference might be.
In your position, I'd try whatever sound devices I had available, especially headphones that use a different type of connection than the one your current headphones use, to see whether anything makes a difference. You can also try selectively disabling different sounds in the game settings: maybe one of those categories is the problem, and the others are fine.
From what i checked it is Mostly the Music that is Crackling. But i'll Check again!
Thanks!
