starting screen at beginning of sims 3 game it says it could not identify the drive i was using

I just got my Sims 3 2 day and when I installed it and started to play it,  at  the main menu screen where it shows your profile it has a screen pop up at me saying it could not identify the hard drive, or driver I was using and it said I might need to ask for customer support , what does it mean, can I still play it because not long after that it downloaded patches and updates.  Does this mean I can play it or not.  Help please.

  • Could you post the exact error message you're getting ?

Did you install the game on the c drive or some other drive ? What is your operating system ?

Unfortunately the error only showed up once so I couldn’t really tell you the exact message all it said was it could not identify the hardware (or driver) I was using and that I needed to contact customer support, Also the message never appeared again, meaning that the problem may have been fixed through the updates and patches it received after.  It says that Sims is on the F drive. The operating system is windows 8 pro, the graphics it uses is Intel(R) HD Graphics, and the processor is Intel I Core 7 and is a 64 bit operating system. 2.20GHz, 8 GB memory.
