@Heavysimmer42 This issue is often related to an antivirus blocking either the game in question or the EA App. So if you use a third-party antivirus, try setting exceptions for EADesktop.exe, TS3.exe, and Sims3Launcher.exe, the latter two without the W. The files are here, respectively:
C:\Program Files\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
[Sims 3 install location]\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
If that doesn't help, please uninstall the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), and restart your computer before reinstalling.
