The Sims 3 64-bit Crashing with No Warning on M2 Macbook Air 2022

@eefmuscat  The main problem with Bridgeport, at least as far as the 64-bit Mac version is concerned, has to do with playing with the Pets expansion installed.  No Pets means that Bridgeport should be fine.  The fact that it's not, and that Moonlight Falls is a problem too, means that something else is going on.

First, the basics.  Are you playing with the laptop plugged in, and with it resting on a hard flat surface or elevated so it can adequately cool itself?  The 13" MacBook Air doesn't have a fan, so it relies on passive cooling: the ability of the heatsink to dissipate heat faster than it's generated.  That works fine under ideal conditions—the M2 chip doesn't generate a massive amount of heat even under heavier workloads—but any interference, for example resting the laptop on a blanket, can cause it to overheat quickly.  Playing on battery will trigger some power-saving features that may hinder the computer's ability to run demanding apps properly.

If these aren't issues, please try playing while your computer is offline, if you haven't already.  You can sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi before pressing Play.  Using Origin in offline mode isn't quite as effective, and I'm not sure from your description whether you only tried that or also took your computer offline.

If that doesn't help either, please create a new admin account on your Mac and try playing there.  Don't link the account to your Apple ID (you can skip that step) or import any settings or data.  You should be able to run Sims 3 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user content won't be available.  That's fine for now since this is just a test.

I do want to mention that there is one known cause of an instant crash, which is a sim, active or otherwise, using the rock wall from the Store.  So if you have one in your current, try removing it.
