OK it's May 2023 and I'm necro posting but I have a new Lenovo 12th gen processor computer and in a wave of nostalgia wanted to play my old fav games and though I have sent in a ticket to EA have also read all the old posts on EA help and some workarounds (that I don't really want to do). Don't think EA will ever fix this so perhaps will need to (sadly) uninstall Sims 3. Sims 4 works fine.
