The Sims 3 Bin folder

Hi! I have a problem with The Sims 3 installation, file "S3Launcher.exe" is missing, what is the cause? I have attached a picture of the Bin folder. Btw, I installed the game again, nothing helped.

  • @igorwpodrozy  You do have the .exe; the issue is that Windows isn't set to display file extensions.  The Sims3Launcher item in your screenshot is the .exe, and if you set File Explorer to show file extensions, you'll see that.

I don't know what the Sims3Launcher.exe.config is doing in that folder, but last I checked, it wasn't supposed to be there.  But the more important question is whether your game is working properly.  If it is, then you have nothing to worry about.

@puzzlezaddict Regarding the Sims3Launcher.exe.config file, I have it too. My game is from Origin, I think it was always there (or might have been added in later patches).

@puzzlezaddictI was talking about S3Launcher.exe, no sims3launcher.exe. Do you know something about it? Btw, my game is from origin 🙂

@igorwpodrozy  Sorry, I thought you were referring to the .exe that runs the launcher.  S3Launcher.exe is not part of Origin installs, or at least it's not part of newer ones, including the one I clean-installed a couple months ago.  The game works perfectly fine without that .exe.

If you're looking to bypass the launcher, that can't be done on an Origin install.
