The Sims 3 Black Screen on Startup w/ Music
First of all ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Phew, I needed that. Anyway on to the question:
I recently dealt with the "Error on Startup" problem by deleting expansion packs from the registry that my computer still thought I had. I successfully updated to the sims version 1.48.5.020001. Unfortunately now when I try to boot the game it displays a black screen. I can hear the sims music and see the spining circle icon the sims typically shows when it's "thinking" but nothing else happens. I have to shut it down via the task manager. What's worse it messes up my graphics card. I usually have to do a hard shut down and restart.
My Graphics card is a NVidia GEForce 8400GS and is updated to 310.90.
My Operating system is Windows XP
