The Sims 3 crashes after 5-10 min play.

Hi everyone, I have a problem. I upgrade my computer from win10 to win11. When my computer Win10, I didn't have any problem with Sims 3 . But when I upgrade my computer to win11 the problem has started. I run the Sims 3 and start to playi after 5-10 min it crashes without any pop up. I am writing down the data I received from the Win11 event viewer below. Can you help with my problem? Thank you everyone in advance.

  • @Sevvalaksu  Does the game crash in a new save in Sunset Valley as well?  Please test for comparison's sake and let me know.

Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply.

The Event Viewer information is limited and somewhat generic, especially in this instance.  All I can see is that you're running the EA App version of Sims 3 and that it crashed with an access violation.  This in turn can be caused by a wide variety of underlying issues.

Thanks for the answer. I only have Sunset Valley. Yes usually when I play on Sunset Valley it crashes. But sometimes it crashes during character creation screen. Additionally I left the DXdiag images.

@Sevvalaksu  I need the entire dxdiag, saved as a text file.  There should be a button to "save all information" in the lower-right corner of the window.  You can attach the .txt file to a reply here.

Please also let me know whether you use mods or custom content, and if so, which mods.  It's fine if you do; I just need to know.

    I let the dxdiag text.
I don't use any mod. I only have "Adventure Lands" pack. I don't use any mod. I could play when my pc has Win10. I started having this problem when I upgraded to Win11.

@Sevvalaksu  Most of the errors in your dxdiag are generic Windows update issues.  While these shouldn't affect Sims 3 in theory, they might tie up system resources that the game needs.  So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Do you run anything else on your computer while playing?  Windows 11 uses more memory than 10, and while your 8 GB installed is enough for Sims 3 and Windows, I'm wondering whether other apps are using extra memory that the game needs.  So please try playing immediately after restarting your computer, with nothing else running (aside from the EA App, of course).  Please also disable the EA Background Service, under Settings > Application, if it's not already disabled.
