The Sims 3 gets stuck on the saving screen

Last night it just randomly got stuck on the saving screen, I waited almost 2 hours for it to save but it didn't. Today I try to save a game and it has had the same problem. The mouse is just the spinning circle and it just says "Saving...", it has been saying that for hours. It just randomly started doing that. Before it worked perfectly.

I have a relatively new computer and have no mods.

I have the base game, Showtime, Late Night, Seasons, and World Adventures.

Please help!

    Hi. This may be because of something running while the program is on. Make sure that is not happening. If nothing is, you may want to check for a virus or reset your computer. That would delete your current households, but it would stop this problem. If the computer has a ton of stuff downloaded, it might need memory. You would need to clear off some of this stuff.     Has there been any new updates to this? My game was stuck on the save screen just like this so I restarted my computer and lost everything.
    Now if I go to play, it welcomes me like I’ve never played 😭
    I do see that I have save file backups so I might be able to revert to the most recent one but idk how to do any of that 😩
