The Sims 3: How Do I Recover My Sims 3 Community Account?

Dear Reader,

How do I begin? I guess I'll start at the beginning. I was trying to find player created content to download on The Sims 3. I logged into my EA Account, but it said that "Your EA Account is not linked to a The Sims 3 Community Account". then, there were 2 options: "Create an account" and "Retry Login". I knew that the "Retry Login" option wouldn't work, so I clicked on the option "Create an account". Next, The Sims 3 Game launcher brought me to their registering website on my Google Chrome web browser. it asked for my EA Account email and password to get started. I typed the information in. When I clicked on the "CONTINUE!" button, it reloaded the page, with everything the same except for this comment on the top of the page: "Welcome back! it looks like you already have an account tied with the email you entered. Please login or retrieve your password below." So, I clicked on the link: "I forgot my password". Then, It brought me to my EA Account page, with no instructions on how to reset my password on the web page. This is where I got stuck. I then decided to go back to the registration page, and type in my only other email, but it said the same thing that it did for my original email. At that point, I gave up. Please, if you've had this problem before, and know the solution, PLEASE help me out! I would really appreciate it! 😃

Thank you, and have a blessed day!

  • @ChryssiPuffLoyal  Account logins were a mess a couple of days ago, when the store site and affiliated functions were undergoing maintenance.  But the issues are supposed to have been resolved by now.  So first, clear your browser caches—be sure to decline to preserve data for favorites—and try again.  And clear Internet Explorer's cache too; even if you never use it, TS3 sites do for some purposes.  Also try a different browser; Chrome doesn't always work well with the official TS3 sites.  (I use Firefox and have never had any issues.)

If that alone doesn't help, clear your caches again, then go to an EA site not associated with TS3 and change your password.  Then clear your caches yet again, and try to login.

If this doesn't help either, please let me know, and I'll forward the issue to someone from EA.  You're not the only person reporting issues this weekend.

Thank you, I had the same problem and Firefox is the solution 🙂

  • Hi @ChryssiPuffLoyal,

How are things? Is it still happening today?

I hope everything is back to normal, but if not, please, try to log out and log in again making sure you are using the EA Account where you have your games registered. 🙂

Let us know how it goes!
