I went and started up The Sims 3 on my PC. Once I got into the game I noticed that the panel at the bottom of the screen that lets you go into buy mode, build and lets you check your sims needs is gone! I've been trying different things but i can't seem to get it back. Does anyone know how this is really bugging me!??

Problem

I can't play anymore for there is no User Interface in my game anymore.
Cause

The User Interface can be turned of via F10 so that you can take pictures or make a video without the UI.
Corrupt save An error occurs on load-up which makes it impossible to load the game properly.
Any ScriptErrors on loadup that prevent the game from loading properly.
Solutions

Press F10 or ESC
Try if reloading the game helps

Minimize the game and make a copy of your savegame
Maximize the game
Use ALT+Q to save and return to the main menu
Restart the game.

Open the cheat console with ctl-shift-c
Type resetsim *
Hit Alt-F4 to be promted to save the game
Restart the game, you should have your interface back
If nothing helps, you will need to load a backup

I personally have tried all three of these possible solutions and neither of them have corrected the issue. Any other options? I don't want to lose my sims progress

Ok so I tried all the solutions listed everywhere. I was Stuck in but mode with just the spinning wheel for a curser. I'm not sure if I randomly hit something else, but all I needed to do was to click the button to switch levels in the house I was building. Once it switched floors the build mode button lot up again, I clicked on it then my live mode button lit up. I saved quick but it seems like everything is working for me now. Hopefully this helps someone!

I have a similar problem only with me the interface is there but the, for lack of better word, face buttons, aren't.

the buttons on the left hand side that have the face of teh sim and a background colour that changes colour.

i've tried reloading my game ( no effect) and going into my saves folder onto my harddisk, deleting the main file, copying the back-up and changing the name of the back-up. when i start up the game after the editing of my safe file it works fine but then when i save and play again later the buttons will be gone again!

pressing F10 also doesn't work. and the buttons are gone both in full screen as in windowed mode.

I didn't, after 3 days of scouring the net and trying everything i just gave up the family as a lost cause and deleted them. my other 2 save files were fine but it still sucks

I'm also have the same problem and I'm try to contact EA but it's so damn hard to be able to chat with them. Have you solve the problems? Cause it's been the third time it's happen with me. Even if I deleted the save game and making a new one (after I reinstall the game again everytime it happen) it's seem it will happen again and again.

I am having the EXACT same problem, it made me give up playing - after 2 or 3 saves, the game gets corrupted like this. It totally ruined it for me. I have all the expansion packs and some stuff packs, but the problem appears even if i use just some of them. I understand that Sims 4 is launched now, but... EA... i paid you a lot of money for Sims 3 and all it's stuff, I wanna play it! I wasn't able to enjoy a big part of the latest expansions (like Paradise Island and Into the Future) because after a few hours in the game, after i save and exist I come back to this. Is anyone going to do something about this?!
