Let's give the following steps a try-

Verify that your Kinect sensor is on:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Kinect.
3. Verify that Kinect on is selected. If it isn't, select it to turn on the sensor.

Try a full power cycle on your Xbox:

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Calibrate your microphone:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Kinect.
3. Select Kinect doesn't hear me.
4. Select Start audio check.
