Is it ok if I choose Intel® Core™ i5-4690K 3.5 GHz 6MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1150 (All Venom OC Certified) and the link you sent me does the monitor come with speakers? And does windows 8 come with office 365 not the free trial?

Hello,

You can change to the Intel Core i5 4690K if you wish, but unless you plan on overclocking this processor (which is perhaps hard to do and has many risks for those who don't know what they're doing), you won't notice any improvement in game performance. The monitor does not come with speakers, but the speakers found in most monitors are rubbish so I would recommend buying external speakers. And the Windows 8.1 (Windows 8 by itself is no longer available) only comes with a free trial.

By the way, the deals from the Veteran Day Sales are over now I believe.

Hello,

That is correct. The license for Windows 8.1 is indefinite, whereas the license included for Office 365 will only last a month or so (and therefore is only a trial product).

I've seen this girl gamer play ts3 and ts4 at high settings for both games and it runs really fast and smooth. Can you tell me if my pc will run the sims games diferently and if so how different?
Here are her specs:
i7-4790K 4.0 GHz
24 GB Ram
3gb GTX 780 Ti
2TB Hard Drive
250GB SSD
Windows 7 Professional

Hello,

While that computer is more powerful than the one I suggested, I doubt you would notice much performance difference. The reason being is that there comes a point with games where adding more powerful components does not make much difference because the human eye cannot notice the higher frames per second. Perhaps the only difference is that this person has an SSD, which makes general computing faster, but from tests seems to have no effect on TS3 or TS4 loading times.

The computer I suggested should be able to play The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 with all expansion packs at maximum settings.

Hello,

Unfortunately Windows 8.1 Pro does not come with a license for Office 365 - you would once again need to purchase a full license after the trial has ended. However, I believe you can get Office Online applications for free with a OneDrive or Microsoft account, but with heavily reduced functionality.

I have used those websites in the past for reference, so they're pretty useful.

Hello,

That looks like a standard good quality monitor, with a good resolution, fine response times. But generally speakers on monitors aren't exactly great, but they aren't too bad for most things. In terms of size, its perhaps larger than you're used to, but in no way that big - I'm using a larger 24in monitor, and I don't think its too large to be honest.

Unless you can afford a proper speaker system, just go for the Logitech Stereo Speakers for ~$20. They should be better than the monitor's speakers, and if not, they aren't too expensive so it wouldn't be much of a loss.

Hello,

An SSD is a type of storage (like a hard drive) where you can run an operating system off, install applications and store information. However, the SSD technology is much faster than a conventional hard drive, which basically means much faster booting times, apps open quicker and general computing feels just faster.

I would recommend an SSD and HDD combo if you can afford it. I would install the operating system and the applications (and games) on the SSD for faster loading, and then storage files on the SSD. If it were me, I would go for either a 120GB or 240GB Samsung Evo SSD + 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue, but you may get better value out of the already created SSD + HDD Combos - the 128GB Sandisk + 1TB drive, or the 256GB ADATA + 1TB combo.

A larger SSD allows for more applications and games, just as a heads up.

When it comes to keyboards and mice, they like to throw 'gaming' onto their products to squeeze more money out of you. As long as you have a mouse with good DPI that is adjustable, you have all the features required to make you better at gaming.

Both combos are good, but I wouldn't make a decision based purely on backlighting - you're unlikely to be looking at your keyboard that much. Go with whichever one you like the most, as they are both good combos.

I would probably go for the CM one as its mouse has better DPI adjustment options, but believe me it doesn't matter what you choose.

I reckon Amazon may be the cheapest, and I expect the price to drop to around $40-$45 if you're lucky, but you would definitely be able to get it for $50. There will be more deals though throughout the year, perhaps closer to Christmas so keep an eye out on Origin.

when I get my desktop then after a few months I decide to upgrade my graphics card,motherboard,cup,hard drive,etc will I be able to upgrade them to anything?

And later im going to get the mouse "Razer Naga Epic Chroma" the keyboard "Razer Blackwidow Chroma" and the mouse mat "Razer Goliathus 2014 Extended" would those Razer products be a good choice?

Hello,

You can pretty much upgrade all the parts... but if you use my suggested builds, you probably wouldn't need to upgrade for a couple of years anyway. But yes, you can upgrade the parts if you wish in the future.

Those are good choices, however I think that they're incredibly overpriced. I think you would be fine with the CM Storm ones I suggested. But once again, your money your choice - the Razer products are good.

I personally like my 24" monitor, but it is much larger than your average monitor. Also, I know ASUS isn't one of the brands you suggested, but they make among the best monitors and are high quality.

Unless you require your desktop to have wireless (like laptops do), for example you cannot connect directly to your internet router, then you won't need an internal wireless network card.

I haven't heard of the Spectre brand, so they may or may not be right. If you're worried, stick with one of the ASUS models I suggested.

Seeing as its not yet Black Friday, some days the deals will be better than others. In theory, when its Black Friday weekend, you may see some really good offers (or on Cyber Monday, three days after Black Friday). CyberpowerPC are basically doing a Black Friday month, in order to get as much sales as possible and get money.
