After installing Sims3 And as soon as you want to install a new package, or want to start the game. It askes for .NET Framework 3.5 and if you click on install/download (in stead of cancel) I get this:
.NET Framework 3.5 installation error: 0x800F0906
cannot download the required files from Windows Update.
Check your internet connection
This error code occurs because the computer cannot download the required files from Windows Update. Method 1: Check your internet connectionThis behavior can be caused by network, proxy, or firewall configurations or by network, proxy, or firewall failures. To resolve this problem, try to connect to the Microsoft Update website.
If you cannot access this website, check your Internet connection, or contact the network administrator to determine whether there is a configuration that blocks access to the website.------ This does not work, it was a new installation, I had internet connection------ It simply says there was an error------Your computer is not connected to the Internet. Please connect, and then retry the operation.
If you cannot connect to the Internet, you can enable the .NET Framework 3.5 by using the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) command-line tool and specifying the installation media (ISO image or DVD) you installed Windows 8 from.
In Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, open a Command Prompt window with administrative credentials (that is, choose Run as administrator).
To install the .NET Framework 3.5 from installation media located in the D:\sources\sxs directory, use the following command:
DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs
----- Does not work, not even a file I downloaded that does this automaticly if you select the location.
----- Found an installer, it simply says: This version is not compatiable with this Windows (or something like that)

Your administrator has configured your computer to use Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) instead of Windows Update for servicing. Ask your administrator to enable the policy to use Windows Update instead of WSUS.
Although its a home computer I even looked up a solution for this, but it does not excist on my computer.
It works perfect on windows 8, not at the 8.1 update I downloaded directly from microsoft 1 week ago.
When lookin on the internet the .NET Framework 3.5 installation is a real problem on Windows 8.1 and there are some possible sollutions if you can believe the information you find, but with me (and more people) all those sollutions don't work and Microsoft doesnt have a real answer.
did you try to see if in turn windows features on or off if you could select .NET Framework 3.5 and turn the feature on
