Transferring all sims 3 editions to new computer

Hi

I have Sims 3 plus several expansion and stuff packs and numerous online downloads. I just found out yesterday that the computer I had installed everything on is not strong enough to support the games and went out and purchased a new computer. I would like to find out exactly, preferably in lamens detail, how to transfer/install my Sims investment onto the new, faster computer system. I have seen questions answered stating that it is a simple transfer of files using a USB drive but that does not seem to make sense (I spent several hours installing the discs originally). Please help!

    There is no getting around having to install the game. There is no install limit on the disc version and a limit of 5 concurrent installs with the digital download version. You can deactivate download version and recover a install. What you can transfer is your user download folder and your save games and mods if you have them. Do not copy all the user data as some of the files are created when you run the game and have configuration data of the old computer hardware.

    I am having a similar problem. I purchased The Sims 3 Starter Pack in November 2013. Everything ran fine until last month when it told me I had to log on to Origin to play. I was unable to figure out how to get Origin online. I went ahead ond unistalled and reinstalled to create a clean program. Now Origin won't accept the promo code because it has already been used. How can I get Origin to understand I have paid for these games and would like to be able to play them!

    your probally getting the code used message because it is tied to the account you already regestired it on the sims3 and origin use the same email and password so try log into orign with the email and password you used for the sims3 account
