Transferring my games onto a new computer

I have just bought a new Windows 8 computer and I want to transfer my Sims 3 games onto my new laptop. On my Origin page the icon for the box is for the Sims 3 Late Night Expansion Pack. It says I must install the SIms 3 core game, which I own. When I try to install it, it says the code has already been used. My mom does not want to buy a new core game unless it is absolutley necessary, so if you know please help. Thank you. 😕mileyhappy:

  • Instead of running setup from the disc, use the download version in your Origin client.

    1) Download and install the latest Origin Client from the website. https://www.origin.com/download (if not installed already)
    2) Login to your Origin client.
    3) Put the game disc in your DVD tray but do not start setup from the disc.
    4) Right click on your game in you Origin client and choose "download"

Origin should detect the disc inserted and install from it. Once the game has been installed check for updates by right clicking
the game and choose "check for updates".

You have to download origin to get the disc to work. See post above on downloading origin. You need to let origin patch the base game to 1.67 and then add expantion packs.

If you wanted to use download versions of your game you would first have to uninstall the Disc version
