Trying to install new CC.

no, nothing opens. I cant even get to my launcher unless I log into origin. I logged into origin hoping it would triger the launcher to open to download from the sims store but it wont.   Origin update is messed up. It has hijacked the launcer and taken over the game as admin. Wont let anyone bypass the launcher to start the game. I havent even played my new install I I am getting errors in my DxDiag that read TS3W file and Origin.  I have an open claim with EA and I have reported all of this to them. We have several people postinng in this forum with same problem

This Origin problem seems to be reporting at the same time as the 1.67 patch . Is it possible that the 1.67 patch is conflicting with Origin? I don't know but EA needs to figure it out soon as many people can not play their game because of it

Origin doesn't crash for us tho, but when I want to instal new custom content, where the thing pops up showing the install/download progress, it freezes and goes into not responding mode and then closes. it happened as soon as we had the new Origin update, I never been able to bypass sims 3 launcher without origin before so that's not an issue for me. 

Origin is not crashing on me. I can get in the game just have to be logged into origin to get the launcher. When I try to download anything the launcher wont pop up. You may have a dffrent computer than me so the issue may be acting diffrently on your computer than mine but it is definatley the new origin.

You should bypass the launcher and origin when playing. They both have very high disc usage (RAM). If you bypass both your saves are so much quicker and cleaner. My game plays so much better whithout origin and launcer running

PS you should be concerned that you must log into origin to play.  What if your internet is out or the origin web goes down, How will you play your game? Usually when we have bad weather and the internt and power goes out thats a good time to want to play my sims. We have to be able to get in the game without internet. Origin should only be needed to download. launcher is only needed to upload and download but we dont need either one to play the game from desktop

I always put origin on offline mode which means you don't need an internet connection to play. 

I did that today also cause I like disconnecting internet to play on sims. 

But you still have to log into origin to put it in off line mode. if your start your game from your TS3W file you dont need the launcher or origin at all. That is this worked for me until the new origin update.

Its not supposed to happen you should be able to bypass origin and the launcher to play and why I have a claim opened with EA. Hopefully they will fix this origin problem soon
