Unable to download content from purchase history (windows 11) 2022

I bought some items for the sims 3 and now I can't download them. Every time I go to download it from the store site, the Sims 3 launcher gets stuck in a login loop. I've done everything that past forums said to do but a lot of the suggested actions are outdated (I.E using internet explorer when it's now microsoft edge and basically a whole different browser.) I have tried

  1. Clearing the data on chrome
  2. Clearing the data on firefox
  3. Clearing the data on microsoft edge
  4. Clearing the data on Opera
  5. Uninstalled and reinstalled the sims 3
  6. Spawned a new sims 3 folder
  7. changing my password

Please for the love of all that is good in this world does anyone know how to fix this.

I would also like to add that the sims 3 is brand new to this computer and has no mods, download, or saved games. I do have Generations and World adventures installed.

  • @mackollie  Did you specifically clear the IE data in Edge?  That's stored separately from other data, described at the end of this article:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/view-and-delete-browser-history-in-microsoft-edge-00cf7943-a9e1-975a-a33d-ac10ce454ca4

And when you changed your password, did you change it to something that doesn't include any special characters?  The launcher has trouble with those.

I would also try these at the same time along with spawning a clean Sims 3 folder, as in, don't even open the launcher until you've done all three again.

Another possible cause of this problem is when someone installs Sims 3 through an account that's different from the one that owns the store content.  You'd presumably know if you'd done this, but just in case, have you ever had two EA/Origin accounts merged or games moved to a different account?
