Unable to save

Yesterday while playing I had been playing for quite a while so I thought I'd better save but when I clicked save, nothing happened, the game just kept playing, I couldn't go into edit town, save and ...

    Hi Crinrict
    I did the sims 3 reset and the game would not start atall so I went back to the old sims 3 folder opened the game and instead of overwriting the save I did save as ... And it seems to have solved the problem. Crazy huh? Anyway thankyou very much for all your help 🙂

Alienware Aurora, Windows 7, 8gm ram, 2 TB hard drive, intel i7 processor, 2x nvidia 460 graphic cards. I'm going to test if it freezes when not logged in. As I think it might have something to do with being online and the new patch. As when I froze twice yesterday I didn't log on for the third attempt and had no freezing.

    How do I put the store content back into the game. Do I put the downloads folder back from the sims 3 backup and then just reinstall them from the launcher? Do I have to do anything with dcCache and dcBackup files or will they be generated again when I reinstall everything from the launcher? I used to redownload everything from purchase history. Do you think that would be better to do? Thankyou!

    That should be the best way. Everything in DCCache or the other files will be recreated.
