My Sims 3 worked perfectly fine and then I installed the University Life pack and it worked fine for a few days but then would start crashing anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes of playing the game. So, I uninstalled the University Life and my Sims worked just fine again. I then installed University Life again and the game started crashing again. Help?!
I have this same problem. I have tried the DEP exceptions, updated my video card driver, no custom content, anything I can find on the internet, etc. and it still crashes.
I had the same problem. I updated my game, and cleared all the cache (Guide to clearing cache: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Sims_3_Delete_Cache_Files) and changed my graphic settings to low, which seemed to work. It might be that your pcs specs aren't high enough for the game? My PC is pretty weak, so changing the graphics settings REALLY helped. What also might help is using Task Manager to end all process while playing the game, because if your PC is running too many processess at once, it'll crash. This also helps the game run smoother.
