updatetool.exe has stopped working.

i am having a problem with getting the sims 3 to work as the updatetool.exe error keeps coming up. Tryed to uninstall and reinstall several times, still not working, and I set up as administrator and it also didn't work.

Is there any way to fix this, or even could I try to play the sims 3 without origin, if possible?

    • What's the exact error you're getting ?
    • What's your operating system ?
    • Did you reinstall Origin as well ?

    It says: Updatetool.exe has stopped working, a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

    OK. This seems to be an issue with Origin and not the Sims 3. 

    I can't really help you out with this so my suggestion is to post this in the Origin section of the AnswerHQ instead of here. There are more people that can help you there.
