Updating the Sims 3

When The Sims 3 update finished downloading (via EA download manager from sims 3 launcher) and was ready to install, the InstallShield Wizard opened briefly and closed. I then had to download the update again. And same thing happened again. 

Can anyone tell me how to fix the problem, and if i have to download the update again, I have limited internet data. And would like to avoid downloading it again. Thanks

    @Travis1209 The EA download manager was replaced by EA Origin. If you want to manually update your game you can with the version  1.67 super patch at link - patching Sims 3 The DRM for TS3 is now Origin. The short version is due to lack of support for SecuROM and SafeDisc Windows 10 and El Capitan no longer support SecuROM and SafeDisc going forward. These DRM will no longer be used or supported.
