Visting Towns without Moving

Hi!

I recently purchased Isla Paradiso expansion pack for Sims 3 believing my sims could vacation there but still remain in their home in Bridgeport.

Is this possible? I can't find the option to do that anywhere.

I don't want to keep creating new games or having to delete the house I built for them.  Is there a way they can vacation for a while, do whatever I want to do there and then return? Could I have them vacation whenever I want? I don't want to move them to the island, just vacation there.

Also, do they remain a family and keep their jobs if they vacation or move to the island?
