Having the same trouble, even going into the lot and changing it doesn't seem to work- when you go and try and plan a wedding it's not listed at all.

How odd.
I wonder if this is linked to the stuck as residential rental bug at all?
- crinrict11 months agoHero+@mightyspritesims I don't think so. There's have been issues with placing lots from the gallery and lot types long before For Rent was a thing. I'd rather say it's the other way round. The residential lot issue had something to do with underlying lot type issues the game has had for a long time.

As a work around, can you change the lot type to park, have that stick, and then change it to wedding venue and have that stick, after quitting the game and restarting?
I had a wedding venue that I originally designed as a park, which placed as a park from the gallery and then I changed it to a wedding venue, and it is still a wedding venue after quitting the game and restarting.
I was able to send a couple to that wedding venue for a marriage ceremony after completing the planning of a wedding event. So the game is recognizing it as a wedding venue, now.
This workaround would not fix the problem of placement from the gallery, but if successful, it would mean you could marry someone on the lot.
