[ARCHIVED] Newlyweds can't cut first slice of wedding cake

It's the end of November 2023 and this is still a problem. Cake topper or not. My Sims are marrying at the Wedding Venue. I'm wasting time at the wedding trying to get this cake cut for credit in the game. I put a bunch of cakes in the groom and one in the bride's inventory. I had to put it into the World and then I could go into build mode and place it on a table. Can't get Cut First Slice to show up. This has been a problem as long as I can remember. I think I saw it once but have no idea why it worked that time and not any other.

The last person said to add the topper to the cake, but when? I may back up to a save before that wedding and try again. Can't buy that cake too soon or it will spoil. I guess I can put it in the fridge unless my save goes back to far. I'll have to remember to take it out of there and put it back on one of the 2 Sims. This is rather annoying with so many details to remember for the wedding. EA please stop ignoring us and have this fixed. It's frustrating. 

BTW, I can't even select the scheduler to cut the cake for the wedding. It is greyed out even though the groom has 5 cakes on him. Scheduling the wedding from him, not the bridge. I went to the wedding and had him put one of his cakes into the World. Interestingly enough, "Cut the Cake" showed up as an item to satisfy when my Sims got to their wedding in another location. Hmmm...
