[ARCHIVED] Reaper's Rewards: Game not loading event

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.109.207.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Log into the game, try to open the event pass it will not function and say "Something Went Wrong! Please wait and try again as the Gnomes try to fix the failure."
What happens when the bug occurs? I cannot open and claim rewards
What do you expect to see? TO open and claim rewards
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

  • As the Reaper's Rewards event has now ended, this thread has been archived. 

    Thank you all so much for sharing the information needed to assist the team. Even though some issues weren't able to be resolved by the conclusion of the Reaper's Rewards event, we were able to use that data provided to improve the experience for future events. 

    As always, we continue to learn and explore how we can provide the best possible experience for all who play The Sims 4, and will use the information in this thread to make decisions on how we can best move forward for future events.

  • I finished the quests in Sims 4 Grim Reaper event on Xbox X for Week 3 last Tuesday or Wednesday. As I finished the final quest, a message popped up saying something like ‘The Gnomes are hard at work to fix the failure.’ The final item, the batfish did not unlock to be claimed and claim button disappeared. It was not in personal or household inventories, either before or after saving, exiting and reloading. I only have 1 save for this temporary character, so I can’t choose an older save to redo it. Now Week 4 quests show on the rewards page but do not activate in game, so I cannot move forward, either. My XB user is attached to my full married name <removed personal info> & the username on XB is HERstory1974. My current email is [edit: email address removed] but my original EA account usually for PC is under an old account email I’ve been wanting to change: [edit: email address removed] I have a couple screenshots, if needed. Thank you.

    Has anyone found the solution on console? I also keep getting the gnomes are fixing this pop up and  I haven’t been able to claim any rewards from week 2 or 3. It’s not as simple since we can’t drag a folder out or completely uninstall and install the game that quick. I’ve tried restarting the game, making new saves, and even restarting my internet, but nothing seems to be working. I can’t even work on challenges because they require the items from the event pass that I can not claim

    The quest is broken for most people. I've only been able to complete the first week. SOOO FRUSTRATINGGGGG

  • I completed this week's 'challenge' and when I went to collect the rewards after buying a death flower, I was unable to do so. There was only a "Something went wrong" error code. I am unable to access the event UI, or click on the side panel grim motif to bring it up. I have tried restarting, and repairing my game. Nothing has worked.

    This event is so ridiculously bugged I don't even know why I bother. I had to remove all of the mods and CC to even make it function, and have been unable to play with any of my legacies because they use mods that break the event UI. This is a completely fresh save that has never had any mods/cc, I have not installed or used any mods/cc since I finally got the event to function, I have made no changes, and have not accessed the EA app or sims 4 since I completed the week 3 rewards because I have no reason to play if I can't use my legacy saves, and didn't wan to risk breaking the event. Clearly it didn't help.

    What can I do to fix this and receive the items?
