Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Interacting with sims and most objects.
What happens when the bug occurs? When attempting to interact with another sim/NPC, my sim and that other sim disregard the interaction command and start dancing in place. Invisible actions fill up the queue bar. When interacting with certain objects (such as a sink or toilet), the sim will at times either start the animation in place (i.e. start brushing their teeth before having even reached the sink) or start the task (i.e. going to the toilet) and the invisible actions will queue up again and the animation will continue until the game is exited.
What do you expect to see? Sim starts and completes the action/task. Task bar does not queue with invisible tasks. When interacting with other sims, sim to complete that task/interaction instead of dancing and getting stuck in place.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes - not anymore, removed entire folder since recent patches. Removed localthumbcache as well.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes, after first lovestruck base game update. Has continued through other patches since.

I have tried updating Mods, removing Mods, removing the entire Mods folder, repairing my game (twice) and nothing fixes the above. I have created several new games after following the remove Mods-remove cache-repair process and encounter the above bugs within seconds of entering a game making it unplayable.

This is a bug I have too after the Lovestruck patch. I haven't found a fix despite moving mods out, repairing and refreshing game files, clearing cache files and reinstalling all packs but I still have the same issue. Live mode in particular is totally unplayable as of now for me.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Loading into any lot in Live Mode. Selecting the majority of Sim interactions with objects or other Sims. Example: Selecting Friendly Introduction on another Sim.
What happens when the bug occurs? Usually one of three things: The Sims just stand there doing nothing, perform the animation but not near the object, or start dancing. Example: Friendly Introduction shows up in the action queue but the Sims just stand there, and Social need does not increase.
What do you expect to see? Sims showing up and actually going inside buildings (bars, Bubble Tea and Thrift store, etc.). Sims properly interacting with objects and talking to each other. Sims only dancing when music is playing.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.

Sims won't interact with objects or each other

All Sims in my game, played or unplayed/other households, will not interact with objects or each other. As soon as I visit any lot, only about 3-4 Sims spawn in and stand around doing nothing, not even going inside the building. Things appear in my action queue but the Sims just stand there, start dancing (no music is playing), or will even do the animation but not directly near the object??? Like, I see Sims doing the animation of rifling through the thrift store racks and the clothes on the rack move, but they're standing outside the building, not in front of the rack.

If my Sim is sitting on the couch and I click 'sleep' on a bed, it shows my Sim as asleep in the lower left corner but they're actually still just sitting there on the couch. Vendors and mixologists also spawn for food stalls and bars but they spawn far away them and just stand there; ordering food or drinks does nothing.

This is still happening after resetting Sims, disabling mods/CC, repairing the game, restarting the game and my computer... The only thing I've found to work is swimming in pools and watching TV. Otherwise, Live mode is pretty much unplayable. CAS and Build/Buy work just fine.

I only started experiencing this after the 7/23/2024 update (PC: 1.108.289.1030), though I can't say for sure it is the issue. I'm also not sure if these are all separate bugs or part of one big problem but either way I can't play the game normally ☹️ 

UPDATE: I've seen others say they 'fixed' the problem by disabling packs, so I did using James Turner's site (https://jamesturner.yt/disablepacks) and after a very long bout of checking each individual pack, I found that the bug was caused by: Spooky Stuff, Romantic Garden Stuff, Seasons, Discover University, Parenthood, and Dream Home Decorator. So, the game is playable for me right now with these disabled, but I'd of course prefer if they just worked how they're supposed to....

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Load up a save in a glitched game and in live mode the sims bug out instantly.

What happens when the bug occurs? After entering live mode the sims will try start doing actions normally but the action gets cancelled and all sims in the household and NPCs on the lot will stop everything and instead idle in place. Selected action's will remain qued in the action bar, but the sim wont execute them.

Some actions like showering and painting seem to get started but the sim will idle in their original spot, and the action finishes more quickly than normal. Trying to talk to other sims will often result in the active sim beginning to play a jamming to music/dance -animation while standing next to the target sim while there's no music playing. Some actions like cooking, drink mixing, social actions won't appear in the action bar at all and are not executed.

The only things that work seem to be a few direct commands with no target sims or objects like "go here", or traveling to other worlds, also the "shower in the rain" action seems to work but plays no animation. Resetting sims unstucks them temporarily, but sims will continue to idle and not execute actions.
What do you expect to see? Actions tasked to a sim would be executed normally, npc's will do their own things without standing around, social actions would play out normally and not cause a sim to dance in place.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? It started occuring after the Lovestruck patch.

Additional info: I have removed all mods and cc, cleared cache, repaired through EA app and let the game generate new game files. After all these steps and testing on a new save the same bug remains making live mode unplayable, but build mode and CAS work normally. I'm adding that some players have reported of the exact same bug happening after official updates over a year ago. Also adding that some players say they have traced the issue down to corrupted packs, and disabling that pack has worked for them. The packs players claim to have had trouble with vary, for some it's been the toddler stuff, for another the mochino stuff, eco living or seasons among others.

UPDATE: I tried disabling all packs and adding them in one by one, and I managed to figure out it was the Fitness stuff pack giving me this bug. I have had some trouble with that pack in the past, mainly that the personal earbuds and fitness channel weren't working. I have tried to play with and without mods/cc, i have tried disabling the packs mentioned here and other places, I have repaired the game, deleted cache, reset the Sims 4 folder, I have done all the things. There is no music playing, I checked the NAP, it's not the dance one. I turned on testingcheats and Reset Object on sims. Nothing is working. The game is unplayable right now. Please please fix this!. Also please read the entire post before suggesting a fix, thank you.

+ Me Too on this one. I encountered this bug on a new save with a practically new game install, and I haven't used any mods with this game install. I was ready to start 50/50ing my DLC since people have said they fixed it by disabling various stuff packs/kits, but after a game/PC restart the bug resolved itself. I do have screenshots and will still send my save (which I copied before the game fixed itself, but who knows) to Cade. 

With the variety of packs people found were causing this issue, I wonder if it might just be related to a game load bug. Since in order to test which packs might be causing issues you'd have to restart the game repeatedly, which might've led to the bug turning itself on/off randomly and players thinking it was related to the packs they were disabling.

I'm not sure why, but the dancing is no longer an issue. I verified all my mods were updated, only a few weren't. I guess one of them was the cause.

What happens when the bug occurs? I originally noticed when I told my sim to "make japchae" for the event task. It would pause for a second, then unpause, then the chef hat icon would disappear, and the sim would continue what they were doing as if I had not asked them to do the task. then I tried to have them ask sims about their traditions, as the event task required, and instead of talking to the other sim, they would stare at eat other and just start dancing and not stop no matter what else I tried to get them to do. It did count on the event tab as completing that task, but I still can't make japchae. it'll cook anything else. I noticed it is also affecting nonevent related tasks when my sim tried to swim and now, they're stuck doing a weird motion up against the ladder of the pool. when I have my sim do anything or if they choose to do a task based on need, I can't cancel the task, the x will show but they will not stop doing the task. it's like it gets stuck.
What do you expect to see? I expect them to do the tasks given (or by need) in the timely manner that it usually takes (not get stuck), as well as be able to cancel tasks when need be. I also expect them to be able to do the event tasks so that I can earn the prizes like I did with reaper rewards. I have tried repairing the game, I have deleted and redownloaded, I have disabled mods and cc, I have tried a new save game as well as resetting sims and other small "fix" ideas I have found on ea answers and similar pages. nothing is working. I had hoped ea would've fixed this by now but it's still doing it. It started as soon as the December 3rd update was complete. I went into the game to start the event and have been stuck ever since. please help
