[FIXED] Children don't gain 'adult' skills

I also play on the p4 and had the same issue with my child sim however the problem didn’t fix itself maybe it work with a different child on my save I have too see I admit there are a lot of bugs that came with this update

I am having the same problem. I started a new game in the last couple of weeks and once my child sim maxed their creativity and charisma skills, they are unable to gain any of the adult skills

Just discovered this today myself. I have Creativity, Social, Mental, and Motor all maxed out and I'm not getting any skill levels in Fishing, Logic, Video Gaming, Piano, or Mischief or any of the Social skills. First time this has ever happened to me. I'm on PC.

I should also add (after seeing other posts) that my game *is* new post-patch and it's still not working for me. The Sim I'm playing on, however, was created pre-patch just in a new game, if that matters...

I have this issue too. In one save the child will gain charisma but in another, it won't. My current child sim has all child skills maxed and has only gained logic, won't gain any others that I try (Violin, piano, charisma, fishing). At first, I thought it had been limited to the first two adult skills the sim learns (child sims gaining logic and video gaming, or charisma and fishing etc), but it doesn't seem to be the case. No matter what I try I can't seem to fix it on multiple child sims and save games. Started with the June update and doesn't appear to be fixed with the July update.

I just noticed the glitch of kids not getting adult skills (or only some of them). I don't have Eco pack so it is patch related. Usually I can get a single skill to work but the rest will not populate. Not sure if they will stick around as still kids. The micro lot kept hanging and so I had to go into CAS to unstick everyone ( reset debug didn't work) so even though I never left the lot, it apparently triggered the hitch where they can't get adult skills.

This is likely gameplay ending for me, as it is very frustrating to have a single skill to work on after maxing the childhood ones. 

None of my child sims are able to build these skills. I had 1 child sim who could build logic skill. I don't know if this is fixed as they age into teens because each time I am losing interest because my gameplay is being interrupted. I've been following this post for a MONTH hoping that there would be a solution but there's still no sign, even after a new patch. EA, can you please sort this out? Or explain why it's happening. 

I tried your suggestion  posted, and reset the mental/creativity back to 9. Sure enough, as long as I tried each adult skill after hitting level 10 of the corresponding childhood skill before saving (someone surmised this is when the glitch occurs), my child sim was able to earn the skill (charisma, violin, piano, pipe organ, logic, video gaming) like pre-glitch. An issue with that is the skill chart won't auto-populate the 10th skill again, looking like it is unfulfilled, but the trait is already there so it stays with them.

Another side glitch that resulted from this bug? My child sims don't register instrument playing for the creativity aspiration (play 5 hours).   I haven't been able to test it yet with a child sim where I haven't had to reset the creative skill (since this glitch appeared), but my sims didn't show any hours played on any instrument at all toward the aspiration goal. I had to cheat the aspiration fulfilled which I hate doing.
