[FIXED] Children Forgetting Adult Skills

To add on to this I can't use the cheat "stats.set_skill_level major_logic 3" (it was lvl 3 before resetting) on my child sim to get it back, I tried on an adult sim in the same household and it worked. 

I was able to cheat my one child who had the problem to regain her lost Violin levels, but I haven’t tried again with another.

I tried again and it worked, think my sim was at school when I tried last lol. Glad that there's a little fix around though

Idk if this is a bug but children don't gain cooking when cooking with family nor do they gain wellness when meditating and doing yoga. I wouldn't suprised if it's just EA not properly implementing their features across all packs but I'll add it onto this discussion just in case.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When you play as children and get your skills up (not the fundamental skills, but the ones like violin, piano and logic) and you get level 10 at the fundamental skill, all your progress on the extra skill will disappear.
What happens when the bug occurs? I have 2 children in the Sims. 1 is really into playing violin, and I got her skill level on violin really high, but when I reached level 10 of the creative skill, the violin skill got reset. I also had this with my other child sim, he reached level 10 on the mental skill and went from level 4 of logic to level 1.
What do you expect to see? That the skills stay the same after reaching level 10 of a fundamental skill.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

I have found that if I was not directly raising the skill, ie having a child at level 3 violin but using the crafting table to get to level 10 creative, she kept her violin levels until she came back from school.

What happens when the bug occurs? When the fundamental is maxed, the logic skill level drops back down to 1 despite the skill having been at level 4 previously.
What do you expect to see? That the skill stay the same after the fundamental has been maxed.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a child Sim learn skills.
What happens when the bug occurs? With the latest update, children are supposed to be able to learn adult skills alongside the child ones. My child got to level 2 violin. Then it somehow reset and she's back at level 1, I recently got the notification saying she'd learnt the violin skill. She hasn't completed the Artistic Prodigy aspiration although she's close. She has maximised the Creativity skill though, and it was after the Creativity skill got to level 10 that the violin skill reset happened. In other words, it's like how the game was before the update, where children had to maximise the child skill(s) to learn any of the adult ones. I'm not sure if it affects any of the other instrument skills. The child is at level 2 piano currently. That seems to be OK for now...
What do you expect to see? Umm, I don't know if this is a bug or not, I've not seen anyone else discuss it. But I assume it is. But it'd be nice if the adult skills didn't reset!

As above - my child had learnt the violin skill alongside the Creativity skill as you're supposed to be able to do now. She was at level 2 violin. Then I got a notification saying she'd just learnt the violin skill and was back down at level 1! This occurred after she'd maximised Creativity. It doesn't seem to have affected the piano skill (that I've noticed so far).
