[NEEDS INPUT] Sim "needs to be invited in" to community lot

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? n/a
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Fitness SP.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? go to a venue, click on a Sim that is walking by, see one of the options is "call over".
What happens when the bug occurs? the option is greyed out because the Sim in question "needs to be invited in first".
What do you expect to see? being able to call the Sim over to talk. the pub is not a residence; in that case, it would make sense to see the option to "invite in" first. but not when at a bar, which my Sim doesn't own. they should be able to ask the other Sim to go over to where they are.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

i hope this link works. so my Sim has visited the bar and is outside (far right) but still on the lot. clicking on the Sim with the beard (far left) shows what i have described above.

i'm not very good at bug reports and i hope this is not a duplicate or not even a bug--i get that the second Sim is walking by, and not in the bar with mine (in that case, "call over" would work if they were both there, but not near each other) but i don't see why they should be invited in to a community lot. the option to "call over" should not be greyed out, especially when there is no option to "invite in".

i suppose a workaround is to choose any other interaction, but that means my active Sim will have to catch up with the one walking by instead of them joining mine at the venue, which is what i intended and defeats the purpose of "call over".

You should also be able to attach fotos to your post yourself.

EDIT: Does this happen for any venue and any Sim ? Can't seem to duplicate. Call over is not greyed out for me.

ok! i'm sorry, i forgot about that. too tired!
"call over" was greyed out for the... i think 3 Sims i clicked on before writing about the "bug". that was at Creekside Smooth at Willow Creek. so i took more Sims to different venues and started clicking on basically every other Sim (not just 3, which i guess was too few) i saw walk by the lot.
i think the "problem" is that whoever they want to talk to needs to have spawned to walk into that same venue. "call over" works if the second Sim is already approaching, so they will walk over to the first one. if they have spawned just to walk by, the option will be greyed out, and the first Sim will have to run out to meet them.
i don't know. i still don't understand why i'm getting the "needs to be invited in first" bit--that is not an option when at community lots. it could simply say "this Sim is too far away to call over" like some other times.

For me it says their too far away to call over on most that aren't in front of the venue

Do you know if it was ever different ?

exactly. that's what i was wondering in my previous post, it could simply say "this Sim is too far away to call over". because that's how it used to be.

That's how it's still for me so I'm I don't know what's happening in your game.

Do you ever get the too far away message ? Did you also try a fresh save for testing purposes ?

yes to both. "too far away to call over" is still present.
i've tried clicking on all Sims that walk past a venue, and most of them "need to be invited in", though. the "too far away to call over" ones are as far away or as close as the "need to be invited in" ones. but i've noticed this last option happens slightly more often when the clicked-on Sim is closer to the venue. it happens in current and new saves.

I'm having the same issue. I'm at a Karaoke bar and none of the sims will enter. When I go to call them over it's greyed out and says that they need to be invited in first. I play without mods or custom content.
