@mommataurus2 here is how you fix it
save your lot to the gallery
clear the lot your working on
save the lot as empty to your library
place the empty lot down
then place your fairy build down
delete your fairy build off your library
save your fairy build with new name

should fix it happens to me all the time its a bit of a hassle but works

what I do now is save the empty lot before starting
delete lot then place empty lot
start building
