A Million Simple Miracles Family Sagas

Hello, everyone! My name is Caleigh. I am newish to the forums and the Sims 4 but have been loving both so far and would like to become a regular contributor. Outside of the Sims 4, my real-life passions include nature and writing. I hope to become an ecological writer someday who travels the world experiencing various landscapes and world cultures. Why am I telling you all this? Well, I got to thinking that maybe I could combine my real-life passions with my passion for the Sims 4.

Due to the challenges associated with trying to accurately portray various cultures and historical groups across time, I have decided to step back from my original plan to do a decade's challenge between 0 AD and 2025 AD and simply focus on crafting stories out of the modern era that the game is set in. This will take a load of stress off of my shoulders, which is very important to me, as they game should be a source of fun and relaxation and not pressure.

Thank you for following along with Makha's story in early AD, and I hope you will enjoy hearing the stories of the families that I choose to portray in this next season of A Million Simple Miracles Family Sagas. Thank you for your understanding, everyone, and have a wonderful rest of your day!

    Place: North America (Generation One)

    Time: 0 - 100 AD

    Character: Makwa Ojibwe

From a young age, Makwa was curious and adventurous. She followed the adults to learn how to identify edible plants, weave baskets, and tend to the fire. Her older brother often took her to observe the men hunting deer and trapping small animals.

Makwa's curious and adventurous spirit leads her on many solo adventures in the wilderness. She explores every nook and cranny she can find and returns home with many collectibles, such as fossils, from her expeditions.Makwa oftentimes tags along with the adults on their daily chores. Her mother, who spends lots of time gathering nature's resources for the family, is more than happy to share with her the secrets of which plants are edible, such as the pears from this pear tree, and which ones are not.Makha's mother also teaches her the traditional art of basket weaving. Baskets are an important part of the Ojibwe culture, and it is important that Makha learn to master this skill.Makwa's father is not without his own lessons to teach Makwa. The firepit, being the central part of the family's household, must be carefully managed to ensure that the flames keep burning.Makwa has a close relationship with her older brother, Dakwa, and the siblings often accompany their father on his deer hunts as observers. Makwa herself will not hunt, but it is important that she know where her food comes from.Makwa and her brother share an excited glance as their father surveys the stream habitat for small animals to trap.

I hope that your challenge goes well 🙂 They are lovely photos of Makha with her family. It is special that they gather around the firepit as a way of sharing together as a family and building up special family time and bonds. It is sweet that she watches and listens to her parents and older sims to learn skills and have their life knowledge passed onto herself.

    Place: North America (Generation One)

    Time: 0 - 100 AD

    Character: Makwa Ojibwe

Makwa was born in the early spring around 15 AD in what is now the Great Lakes region. Her people were semi-nomadic, moving with the seasons to hunt, gather, and fish. Born into a tightly-knit community, Makwa's early years were filled with the sounds of rustling leaves, the calls of birds, and the gentle murmur of streams. Her mother was a skilled gatherer and herbalist, while her father was known for his craftsmanship of tools and weapons.

Baby Makwa enjoys the light of her family's firepit.Makwa's family must follow the seasons, migrating to new areas for the sake of fishing, gathering, and hunting.Makwa's mother is a skilled gardener and herbalist. While she often goes out into the wilderness to gather, she also maintains a garden outside of the family's wigwam. Makwa watches her keenly to learn her skills.Meanwhile, Makwa's father is a master of woodworking and carpentry. He shapes weapons and tools for the tribe, and it is from him that Makha learns the art of patience.Family is important to Makwa's people. She listens close to those who are older than her to learn their lessons and gain their wisdom. The firepit is an essential part of Makwa's family's household. It keeps them warm and provides a central point by which to build community.Like the rest of her family, Makwa nurtures an intimate relationship with the outdoors. She often goes off into the wilderness to explore and observe the living beings around here, such as the frogs in the logs.
