I had two sims with withe hair color, because they were supposed to be elves in my mind, their two children end up with red and brown hair color.
Now, if i want to change my sims hair color i always make sure that they do not plan to have anymore child, TH2 genetics system was better. And even if we really want to change our sims hair colors (our sims marry a townie with a hair color that we don't like) we could always use cas.fulleditmode to change the genetic hair color.
