- graceymanors11 years agoLegendI actually do mind, its the reason I'm not getting it.I hated TS2 how I could only see my lot.:/ I did like being able to see in restaurants, but since I didn't use them in TS3 it didn't bug me, however I spent a lot of time out of my sim's house and I loved being able to freely walk to other places with no loading screens.
And my computer doesn't meet the specs anyways, my CPU isn't powerful enough."Can you run it?" says I failed.
I get that you shouldn't judge it before playing it, but I don't want to wast $70 and end up hating it. - I'm looking forward to a smoother game experience. I loved previous incarnations of the game, so I expect I will enjoy this one, even with the changes.
- If it means the game will lag less, I'm happy.
- Sid1701d911 years agoSeasoned AceWell lets just rephrase open world to open game. It is still open world even with loading screens, in MMORPG they call it sandbox view of the world or instances. This way you can stack your city however you want.
- As long as there are no more so-called "Rabbit Holes", i may probably not even notice anyway. The Sims games were not exactly designed in a way to take full advantage of a Open-world environment to begin with, so having these large open maps in TS3 may have been the reason that such a large portion of the environments interior lacked rendering.
It's also not a good idea to assume that just because technology may have advanced to a certain point, does not necessarily mean that "everything is possible" Regardless of what Maxis may want to see in their games, they still have to stay within their "playable game size-budget" (whatever that may be.) - I actually like that it's not open world. I don't have time to play that much, and for me the big open worlds of Sims 3 were a little bit overwhelming... I found it hard to get into the game if you weren't able to spend hours and hours with it. Sims 4 looks more straight-forward and I have nothing against that.
Also, in Sims 3 I really dislike the long loading time before the playable lot is open, so I really much prefer (hopefully) shorter initial loading time and (hopefully) short loading times when moving between lots in the game. - I love the open world in Sims 3, I don't like the loading screens in Sims 2 and the only thing you can see is the lot that you are on.
- KrazyAngelKat8111 years agoNew Scoutmuch as it was fun being able to drive / walk / run around the neighbourhood in TS3 it was hell on my graphics card so this might be a more laptop friendly game. Also I hate rabbit holes with a passion, really hoping that's the end of those.
- it doesn't bug me either. Maybe there will be less lag for many of us. We have to load screen to go to university, Future or world adventure anyway.
- bshag4lv11 years agoSeasoned AceI've been playing sims 2 since UC came out and I really don't mind the loading screens. They are pretty fast on my computer and also saving is super fast. Hopefully, S4 will be as fast.
I can't play S3 on my desktop as I uninstalled in a fit when the glitches finally got to me. But still have it installed on my laptop as it runs smoother than desktop. I still love the open world, CASt and my lil vampire and will play them in the future. I understand the need for the semi-open world and look forward to playing sims 4 without any lags or glitches. (Keeping fingers crossed.) Plus there's always cc, my friend. :D
