Changing the fence on a circular deck

I've been playing with the 1 Torendi Tower Penthouse and figured out how to make the matching little deck on the penthouse but I can't figure out how to change the circular fence on that little deck. I can change the straight part so that it matches the rest of the building, but not the circular part. Is there some trick to doing it, like doing it off the edge and then moving it there like you do to get the deck piece there in the first place? I kept trying to do that but it kept saying "invalid room".

  • If you use the replace tool, you should be able to change fences by selecting the one you want and then hovering over the one you want to replace.

Just an FYI, I heard but haven't experienced it that a few fences won't curve. Every fence that I've tried has curved but I haven't tried them all. So if you cant get the fence to curve when you replace the fence, pick another fence to try.

I picked the fence that seemed to be used on the rest of the building because I wanted it to "blend" with the apartment building. The "Mega Fence (Budget DeLite)"

What's weird is that I worked on it and worked on it yesterday. No matter what I tried, nothing seemed to work. Today I hovered over it (which I'd done before) and it just snapped into place the way I thought it should to begin with and it looks perfect. It worked to replace the fence section that I didn't remove and also in the same spot on the lower floor where I had deleted it to see if that worked better.

Weird, huh! I wish that I could show you. Thanks for all your help!
  • I finished the lot and uploaded it to the gallery. I called it Party Garden Penthouse. I had so much fun with making it. I watched so many "how to" videos! (And I don't like videos. I much prefer reading "how to" do things but now it seems like everything is done by video.) Fortunately, Carl, Kate Emerald, lilsimsie and others have some really great ones. (Yes, hours of them if you watch all of them!)

I learned to use the T.O.O.L. by Twisted Mexi. There wasn't anything I needed to move off lot or to rotate. But plenty of things I wanted to "elevate". But now I have plans for when I go back to playing in my neighborhoods. There have been some frustrating things that I've always wanted to change and now I know how I can do that!

I figured out how to use the bb.showhiddenobjects (and it's twin of bb.showliveeditobjects although there wasn't anything in there that I wanted for this build.) You have to use it to get the apartment "announcement board" so that your apartment and penthouse people can read about the festivals.

I also tried to use the OMSP "red shelf" by Amoeba although I suspect I'm not doing it quite right because it's not working like it seems to in all the speed builds and "how to" videos that I watched.

Thanks. I'll try that. I thought I'd tried everything but I don't remember an option like that coming up.
