Custom Age Lengths

I would like to suggest having a slider in the game to adjust custom age lengths for Sims and pets. I feel that Long setting is too long and Normal is too short.

Agreed, I’d like to change the time frames for all life stages to a custom number
  • You can do it with mcc but it SHOULD be added to the game properly. I HAD custom age lengths (in between normal and long) with mcc and on a game patch update when you load for testing they're all right at the stage to age up, so my elders die, teens grow up before I complete what I want etc. As it stands I play on normal with no aging for a while as I rotationally play.

Agreed, they had this in Sims 3 didn't they? I'd like to be able to vary it depending on life-stage as well (I am not a toddlers fan, particularly, and children can get boring if you play on long but max out all the aspirations, however I hate fore-ageing them if I can help it).

I am playing on Long, which I prefer. However, I like to age up my Sims, when I'm ready for that to happen. I really wish we had a mechanism to be able to set birth order when making the family in CAS. I have four teens and a child, that I started off this game save with. I had to pull some fancy footwork (using MCCC) to reorder two of the four teens. Aaron was clearly the eldest, then Erik, but CAS placed Brianna older than Joey, Jr. Mind you I created them in order of birth. Why does the game do something else with them? :/ I was able to reset her to YA and then back to teen, to start her at the beginning of the teen stage to 'fix' it, but still. I had such high hopes we'd get the sliders from Sims3. I always played on Epic and set the baby-teens to x amount of days. Sorry, we can't do that now. I know MCCC is supposed to allow for this, but I have never been able to get that feature to work. I set it. Save the game. Exit the game, and nope. We just got a brand new upgrade … perhaps, I'll give it another go. :open_mouth:

That would be good, like a family tree option where you can actually edit it, maybe even having the option of putting dead relatives in it! Or instead of X amount of days to age up, if you have seasons, have it so every 3rd day of Winter is their birthday. I imagine that would be harder to implement however.
  • Indeed, I'd set mine to the same amount of time it takes for a human to live such as 80 days = 80 years for example. :D
