Good thought. By this time she would probably say the same herself as she has never even thought about it until now. Also, this is the second day of contact with the locals.
It will be explained at some point in the story, but I can forestall it. ;) She is using some herbs that prevent a pregnancy. However, they can only be used of the queen and heiress because they're pretty rare and they don't work always (play with risky woohoo).
