Backstory: Jenny was born to parents of two entirely different cultures — a German father and a Chinese mother. They were two entirely different people — him, a laid-back smooth talker from a stable home with a promising career, and her, a bookish girl using her love of traveling to put her painful past behind her. They were so different, people assumed they wouldn't work out — and they were wrong.

And six years after Jenny was born, they were right. As it turns out, Jenny's father was secretly sleeping with his co-worker, and when the truth came forth, he merely walked out on the both of them. Jenny's mother loathed the fact that her daughter was starting off with the same shaky childhood she had, but she was determined to stabilize things, moving them to a different town and taking up work as a librarian at the public library. Jenny's mother didn't have the extra income to leave Jenny with a nanny, so little Jenny was raised by her mother, her co-workers, and a whole host of books instead, which drove her to her dream ambition of seeing her name in print.

While it initially started out as a desire to write a book, she found herself straying more and more towards the historical section as she got older, spending hours sifting through old magazines and newspapers, fascinated by the raw and realistic accounts of tales past. It drove her to immediately seek out joining her school news program to jump-start her future dream career as a journalist. When she isn't working on furthering her career, she's at home, taking care of her ailing mother, or going on long walks around town just to clear her head.
