Just curious as to why that would be going too far :/ We experience death and sickness in real life and the sims end up dying in the game.... sorry if I sound stupid :(
You don’t sound stupid.
I get that death is a part of life. I just personally wouldn’t want to see something like cancer which is a real life illness imitated in game. It’s not something in my view to “play with” and to have it in a game would be demeaning how serious it is. I don’t just apply that to cancer. For any long term illness. I’ve lost too many people I love to cancer, I wouldn’t find it fun to see it in a game. I would find it upsetting.
I have a long term illness myself, it’s not as serious as cancer and I won’t die from it but people have. I hate to see it portrayed in people’s lets plays because more often than not an episode later the sim is “fine” and the sim has just gained weight, problem solved. It’s a bit insulting personally for me and if cancer was in game I would find it Insensitive. I find it really weird when people use it as a storyline In lets plays on YouTube. People play video games to escape real life Illnesss not to have the game portray them in a humourous light. It’s why in the sims 2 the most serious illness was the flu or food poisoning, they could die if left untreated but it was easy to treat and even easier if your sim made Grandmas comfort soup as it cured it instantly. Not everyone feels this way but there’s a fine line I think between more deaths and danger to resorting to real life diseases and thankfully EA have never ventured into that territory other than food poisoning/flu.
