A. The child goes to war as a teen and then chooses his young adult trait after the war when he grows up?
Or
B. You choose a trait as normal and then use cas.fulleditmode to change an existing trait using testingcheats on once the young adult "comes home from war"?

Hello @Peekle! If you're following @CuteCoffeeGal's take on the challenge rules, I think it kind of answers this. Since for most wars it's teen, young adult, and adult males who are drafted, you could simply do both: pick a trait when a teen ages up and use a cheat to change a YA/A's traits. That's how I do it :)
