You are spot-on about a lot of things. Braeden surprised me, too, when he had revenge. But anyone could feel upset if someone threatens to hurt the ones they love. Braeden has a bit of a temper, so there's that. The repopulation part will be a vicious cycle indeed. There will always be a form of prejudice, even if the humans stopped existing.
