Does anyone have a set of Rags to Riches Eco Lifestyle rules?

Does anyone know if there is a set of rules somewhere out there for a Rags to Riches Eco Lifestyle challenge? I have searched high and low and haven't had much luck. Any help would be much appreciated  .
  • I have some ideas in development. I did finish a rags to riches style challenge, Left High and Dry. So, I'll be pulling from that experience.

For starters, I've noticed issues with gallery sims that I use the money cheat on, and I plan to do a rags to riches style challenge without cheats. The bugs I ran into with instant infinite money after loading with negative funds did not have a fix without using cheats and reloading a saved household.

Anyways, my challenge idea pack requirements are as follows:

    City Living
    Eco Living

My challenge idea is as follows:

    Stage 1:

Use all of the starting funds to build a house using only the lowest quality appliances and objects.
The house must be built from stuff with an industrial foot print.

Required Lot Traits for Stage 1:

    Landfill Lot
(Trash gets dumped on the lot and shifts faster toward industrial)
    Reduce and Recycle
(Outdoor Trash Cans are no longer bottomless)
    Filthy
(Places like counters and bathrooms get dirty faster)

This is just the starting point.

However, the stages are still things I'm thinking about.

The general idea is that you start with a really poor quality lot, and the conditions should quickly shift from neutral to industrial.

If you have university, jobs can be limited by level of education. Part time jobs for a pre-high school and high school degree. Jobs that your sim leaves the lot for but is unplayable can be after a college degree. A second college degree or an improvement in the eco footprint can lead to a job where you can go to work with your sim or own a business.

Different stages would have appliances and objects with different levels.

City living has used appliances and furniture. It also has wallpaper and floors to match. I noticed that things like beds and kitchen appliances fulfill needs better at different levels.

I would probably use different level milestones for different skills to mark the different stages.

For example, the handiness skill can broken up by the levels that let you upgrade different rooms starting with the bathroom. Level 5 cooking unlocks gourmet cooking and could be a part of the level increments. Logic could be argued as something that is required to restore a run down home in a way that pushes it toward being green. I believe there is a challenge posted somewhere that has a lot of this spelled out already. I'll try to find a link.
  • For a little spice, you could make your sim have the ultimate goal of fixing up the rundown home and achieving immortality. By definition, immortality is the inability to die. So, it's more than just making your sim live forever. It would include unlocking all the traits that make it very difficult to kill the sim. Things like never starving, immunity to death by lightning, cold, and heat. Immunity from death by embarrassment and the ability to remove negative emotions faster. The naturalist (Freelance Botanist Aspiration) trait would make your sim immune to fire.

As for some other things that might help with different stages, traits gained from different aspirations are a good start. For instance, a handy sim can instantly upgrade appliances, and the different stages of different aspirations can mark different stages.
  • Okay, I just noticed that I did not share the information here, and I think the post that gave me the idea got deleted from old age on another site. So, here are the level increments. The original idea was that you built the house in stages by achieving different skills. It also required cheats, but I'm trying to create a version that doesn't use cheats.

I'll repeat some information and continue it here. I can't edit anything to simplify it.

Background Information (For those who want it)

Congrats! You've dug your way up from a life of rags to one of riches. You've done so much to help improve the world around you too. Your garden is the envy of everyone, you can make almost anything from the trash discarded on the street, and you probably made your beautiful mansion from those hidden treasures. By the end of this, you've probably gone beyond reaching for the moon and the stars!

It took me a while to accomplish this, but the general idea is that once you reach the fourth stage you should have the freedom to do whatever you want. I guess that's the reward that comes with going from rags to riches.
  • I wanted to make some adjustments to the challenge I suggested. Again, I'm repeating information because I can't edit it. Also, I couldn't go to sleep with the ideas floating in my head.

    Recommended Packs:

    City Living
    Eco Living

    Challenge Rules:

    Cheats are not required.
Sim can be whatever you want (Teen, Occult, or all of the above).
Must be a new sim fresh out of CAS.
Items created by the sim are exempt from limitations at any stage.

If cheats aren't enabled, a player must use all their money to build a house with Stage 1 limitations.
Created houses can't be made with skill tools like an Easel, Instrument, Woodworking Table, Seed packs, Fabricator, Recycler, or anything that isn't absolutely necessary for meeting basic needs.

If cheats are enabled, cheat income to 0 with the Money X cheat after using testing cheats true. This will create a more difficult start.

    Stage 1:

Use all of the starting funds to build a house with only used items or whatever is the poorest quality.
The house must be built with wallpaper, roofs, and floors that have an industrial footprint.

You've come a long way. You're a better cook, have some money, live in a slightly better home, developed a few important skills, and you have a better understanding of nature. And, hey, those places that used to get dirty more often are staying clean.

Background Information (For those who want it)

It seems making friends building a bigger and better home has detoured others from using your lot as a dump, and it seems a trash service is finally making the trash build up go away. Your fabrication skills are improving so much, and now, you can make most of your furniture from the bits and pieces you find instead of buying it new. There are no more limitations on how you build your home. Things have really come a long way!

    Stage 4 Lot Requirements:

All lot trait slots are free for whatever you want.

  • You can't use Landfill as an option on Residential, or Tiny House Residential, lots. I found this out when I was trying to set the Lot traits for the challenge. Do you have an alternative Lot Trait in mind? Grody maybe? Causes nausea when a sim eats, drinks, or uses the bathroom on the Lot at random intervals. Could be because of the low quality of the items in the home and the naturally filthy surroundings.
